A National Insurance card from 1952. The card shows the change in rate of contributions on 1 October 1951. This was accompanied by a change in the design of the stamps. The owner of this card moved started off as “non-employed” (the stamps with the value in a diamond). Then became self-employed (stamps with the value in an oval) and finally an employee (stamps with the value in a rectangle).
